Biography
On Completion of his residency in Anesthesiology and fellowship in Pain Medicine at the University of Michigan in 2002, Dr. Williams joined the faculty at the University of Michigan on the Liver Transplant/Major Vascular anesthesia team in addition to his responsibilities in the Pain Medicine Division. He developed an interest in practice management and medical management consulting while at the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan from where he graduated with an MBA in 2004.He subsequently joined the faculty in the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine, Division of Pain Medicine at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in 2005, charged with developing an Off-Site private practice pain medicine program. The Pain Clinics at Green Spring Station and subsequently at Johns Hopkins at White Marsh were the result of this endeavor. He is currently the Medical Director of the Blaustein Pain Center, at the Johns Hopkins Medical Institution.

- Business of Medicine: Main area of focus in the business of medicine includes, specialty practice development, physician practice management, acute in-patient and revenue cycle management, and medical management consulting.
- Interventional pain medicine: Main area of focus is in translational research in neuromodulation,with particular emphasis on the mechanisms and efficacy of dorsal column stimulation in neuropathic pain, peripheral neuropathies and peripheral vascular disease.
