Bio

Biography
Dr. Ramulu grew up in suburban Chicago, and became interested in the eye during medical school, during which time he studied the genes and proteins of the eye with Dr. Jeremy Nathans. After pursuing a residency in Ophthalmology and fellowship training in glaucoma, he decided to pursue a research career devoted to understanding when and how eye disease produces disability in important daily tasks.

Dr. Ramulu has authored over 15 articles and book chapters, spoken at numerous national and international Ophthalmology and vision research meetings, and has reviewed articles for numerous journals.

He has received grant support through the Wilmer K12 Career Development Program, as well as through numerous agencies including the American Glaucoma Society and the American Geriatrics Society.
