Bio

Biography
Dr. Makary specializes in advanced laparoscopy, pancreatic surgery, gastrointestinal tumors and special issues of elderly patients. He is an active surgeon and researcher, serving jointly on the faculty of the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and School of Public Health. He serves in leadership roles for the United Nations World Health Organization (WHO), the International Union of Risk Management, and is a regular medical guest on CNN. He has authored several books on public health and surgery, patient safety, quality of care and health policy.
