Bio

Biography
Dr. Clark is a Board-Certified Anatomic Pathologist and Cytopathologist. Dr. Clark has been on the pathology faculty of Johns Hopkins School of Medicine for over 14 years, where he currently serves as the Director of the Division of Cytopathology. Dr. Clark received his M.D. degree from The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, Baltimore, Maryland and his B.A. degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois. In addition to his training in diagnostic anatomic pathology at the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Clark has pursued both pre-doctoral and post-doctoral research in molecular biology at The National Institutes of Health and the University of Pennsylvania.

Professional Highlights
Dr. Clark serves on the editorial advisory boards of Cancer Cytopathology, CytoJournal, and Expert Review of Molecular Diagnostics. Dr. Clark has published over 100 original papers, reports, review articles, abstracts, book chapters and books. Dr. Clark has held national pathology leadership positions, including Scientific Program Chair for the Annual Meeting of the American Society of Cytopathology and Subcommittee Chair for the NCI Thyroid Fine Needle Aspiration State of the Science Conference. Dr. Clark also serves on the Scientific Advisory Board for BD/TriPath Oncology and is a founder of BioMarker Strategies, LLC. He is a frequent speaker on the topics of tissue-based cancer diagnostics and molecular biomarkers for targeted cancer therapy.

Research

Research and Publications
Dr. Clark''s current research interests are focused in the area of cancer diagnostics. Dr. Clarks laboratory is interested in the molecular characterization of cellular damage and the discovery of novel biomarkers for cancer. The translational arm of his research laboratory is interested in characterizing molecular alterations in cytologic samples of human tumors and developing molecular biomarkers to guide targeted cancer therapy.
