Supported Projects

The TTC supports clinically based research conducted by Hopkins investigators, with priority placed on projects proposed by junior faculty or new clinical investigators.  TTC projects will be those requiring molecular technologies to facilitate research that will translate to altered patient diagnostics, management, or treatment.  If the required technology is one that already exists in the clinical testing arena, the TTC facilitates assay design and patient testing.  If the technology is not currently clinically used, TTC can investigate and validate the technology for clinical-grade results.

Ongoing Projects

  1. Clinical sequencing of PEX genes associated with Zellweger Spectrum Disorder

  2. Clinical sequencing of PTEN to identify mutations associated with Autism
  3. Research sequencing of genes in a candidate region for facial dysgenesis.
  4. Application of Sequenom high throughput genotyping system to investigating SNPs associated with atherosclerosis.
