Test:   Direct analysis of the CFTR gene sequence

Sensitivity:   Approximately 98% of classic CF is caused by point mutations in the CFTR gene. This sequence analysis will detect >99% of those point mutations. This analysis will not detect other types of mutations in the CFTR gene.
  
Cost:   $2298 per individual
       
Turn Around Time    5 to 6 weeks
Special Considerations:   Phenotypic information is extremely helpful in interpreting novel sequence variations.
