FAQs

1. What is the philosophy of the program?

Our weight loss specialists are firmly committed to helping you find your healthy weight. We evaluate a patient’s weight status and assess for any weight-related health conditions. In addition to managing these diseases, we also find a healthy weight loss plan that can work for each person. Learn more about our weight management evaluation and associated services.

2. How does the weight loss plan work?

What sets our program apart is our commitment to find the weight loss solution that is right for you and your lifestyle. Our weight loss specialists will spend time learning about your past medical history, including your weight, and determine if any medical conditions are causing your extra weight. We provide nutrition counseling, exercise physiology, behavioral therapy and complementary and alternative medicine therapies. We try and approach all aspects of weight-management, using the latest research as well as tried and true methodologies that have proven successful for other patients.

3. Will my insurance cover the cost of the program, or do I need to pay out of pocket?

Some insurance companies will pay for a consultation by our weight management specialists. Sometimes your eligibility is based on your BMI. [Check your BMI.]
Please call your insurance company to determine your eligibility for benefits coverage. Or you may want to use your flexible spending account (FSA), which typically covers these kinds of services.

4. How much weight can I expect to lose with diet and exercise?

The goal of our program is to find a healthy weight loss that you can maintain. Our aim is for you to lose one to two pounds per week.

5. Where do you see patients?

Our weight loss specialists provide all consultations and other services from our Green Spring Station location.
