Susan Renda, a nurse practitioner and Certified Diabetes Educator, is a huge asset here at the Diabetes Center. She worked for 19 years in a multi-specialty group practice, becoming a Certified Diabetes Educator in 1994, before joining us in 2008. Susan meets with patients for one-on-one appointments at the Center, as well as helps with our one day and two day group education classes.
One of Susan’s goals when meeting with her patients is to empower them with the knowledge and skills necessary achieve a healthy and happy life with diabetes. She hopes to minimize the complications and maximize their personal well-being. “I would like to see the myths about diabetes erased so that people with the disease and their families can clearly see the actual challenges and be able to seek the help they need to overcome those challenges.”
Susan also teaches at the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing.
