Will my insurance company cover treatment for phototherapy or photopheresis?

Once a Johns Hopkins dermatologist has prescribed a type and dose of light therapy or photopheresis treatment, our staff will work directly with patients' insurance companies to preauthorize coverage.  After insurance coverage is assured, we will schedule your appointments for treatment. 

When are phototherapy and photopheresis treatments offered?

At the Johns Hopkins Outpatient Center, phototherapy is offered five days per week, and early morning hours are available for patients who are students or who work.  Photopheresis treatments are available five days per week as well. 

How do I schedule a consultation for phototherapy or photopheresis?

To schedule a consultation to discuss phototherapy treatment options or photopheresis, please call (410) 955-5933.  Referrals may be faxed to (410) 955-5322.  

How do I refer a patient to receive phototherapy or photopheresis services?

To refer a patient for photomedicine services at Johns Hopkins, please complete the appropriate Consultation Request Form on our Forms site and fax the completed form to (410) 955-5322.  We will contact the patient to schedule a consultation.
