As discovery occurs through basic and translational research, our faculty at Johns Hopkins incorporate evidence based knowledge into practice. Many faculty members in the Department of Dermatology are actively engaged in clinical, translational and basic research as principal investigators. Their work is supported by the National Institutes of Health, private foundations and corporate industry. Basic Science and Clinical/Translational Research
The research at Johns Hopkins Dermatology reaches many subspecialty areas, and includes collaborations with other departments at Johns Hopkins and elsewhere. Conducting both basic science research, and clinical and translational research, our experts are exploring new ways to diagnose disease, design therapies and deliver treatment. Resident Research and Other Training Opportunities
Besides supporting faculty research, the Department of Dermatology considers research as a core component of education for our trainees and encourages residents in Dermatology to co-lead studies and publish papers on innovative topics in the field.
