The website for the Collaboration for Craniofacial Development and Disorders
(CCDD) was created for families,
physicians,
and scientists.
The mission is to care
for patients, educate,
and perform
research on craniofacial disorders. Information is provided
about services available at Johns Hopkins University and providers
around the world. Our Center is fortunate to be one of six centers
to receive funding from the National
Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research at the National
Institute of Health.
At the CCDD website you will find information
and web
links for families, physicians, and scientists. Cleft
lip, cleft
palate and craniosynostosis
are common congenital anomalies discussed. Some of the syndromes
highlighted are: Apert,
Carpenter, Crouzon,
Fetal
Alcohol, Goldenhar, Hallerman-Streiff, Hemifacial Microsomia,
Moebius, Noonan, Orofaciodigital, Pfeiffer, Pierre
Robin, Treacher Collins, and Waardenberg Syndrome.
While designing our site, we talked to patients and their families
who have been generous in sharing their experiences. Physicians
& Dentists from hospitals specializing in genetics, cancer,
ears,
nose and throat, eyes,
plastic
surgery, psychiatry,
and speech,
wrote articles describing medical and genetic conditions, their
management, treatment, surgical procedures and techniques. Scientists
have provided their knowledge and expertise about craniofacial conditions.
We encourage you to explore our site. You may ask
questions and experts will answer you directly. Hopefully it
will be a valuable resource for you. Let us know how we can improve
by filling out our Feedback.
Our What's
New Archives displays a monthly listing of new items added to
our website.
