Nursing

Burn nurse photoBurn patients require highly skilled intensive nursing, which includes trauma care, specialized monitoring and extensive wound care. Burn nurses also serve as an advocate for the patient, coordinating care and providing education regarding the patient’s overall plan of care.

Nurses at the Johns Hopkins Burn Center adult unit are certified in Advanced Burn Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support. Nurses at the pediatric burn unit are certified in Advanced Burn Life Support.
