James A. Fauerbach, Ph.D is the chief psychologist at the Johns Hopkins Burn Center and Director of Cognitive Behavioral Training for psychiatry residents in the Anxiety Disorders Clinic at Johns Hopkins Hospital. He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and holds a joint appointment in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Dr. Fauerbach's research includes investigating factors mediating emotional disturbance and emotional health following serious illness or injury, especially in relation to potentially traumatic events or changes in appearance and function with the ultimate aim of improving the assessment, prevention and treatment for emotional disturbances that interfere with health and function.

Barbara J. de Lateur, MD is Professor, Director and Lawrence Cardinal Shehan Chair of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Johns Hopkins Hospital and School of Medicine, and is an expert in physical medicine and rehabilitation. Dr. de Lateur's research interests include effects of exercise training on gait, balance, and fall risk in survivors of major burn injuries, and the elderly. She has 30 years experience in research and application of exercise to health maintenance and to the management of musculoskeletal and other disorders, and over 150 published articles and abstracts. In 1996, she was elected to membership in the Institute of Medicine of the National Academies. Dr. de Lateur has been the recipient of the Distinguished Academician Award from the Association of Academic Physiatrists, the John W. Goldschmidt Award for Excellence in Rehabilitation, and the Distinguished Clinician Award from the American Association of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
