Medical Oncology

Most, but not all, patients diagnosed with breast cancer need some form of chemotherapy as part of their treatment. At the Johns Hopkins Breast Center, our medical oncologists are specialists in the treatment of breast cancer. They are part of The Johns Hopkins Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center, which has set the standard in many areas of cancer treatment and research.

Our physicians treat hundreds of women each year, including patients from out of state who come to us for surgical treatment and return home for the rest of their care. We have a thorough knowledge of the complications, side effects and psychological needs that breast cancer patients experience. Our doctors are colleagues who work closely together every day and can coordinate treatment efforts across different disciplines.

We are dedicated to following treatment guidelines of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN),  which helps us ensure that we’re providing therapies that meet the standard of care and have been proven to improve survival outcomes.
