Mission

The BSI brings together neuroscientists from across Johns Hopkins' schools and campuses to solve fundamental questions about brain development and function, and to use these insights to understand the mechanisms of brain disease, to develop effective treatments, and to take these therapies to patients.

These goals will be met by supporting and making available new enabling technologies and shared research platforms in selected research area, by helping form new interdisciplinary research teams and working groups, by promulgating new models of training, by fostering technology transfer and strategic partnerships, and by helping effective translation of discovery into clinical testing and disease treatment.
