The Brain Science Institute Planning Committee consists of leaders of Brain Science-oriented Departments and Divisions at the University and consists of the Directors of Biomedical Engineering, the Mind Brain Institute, Neurology, Neuroscience, Neurosurgery, the Neuropathology Division of Pathology, Psychiatry, Psychology and Brain Sciences, and Radiology. This group meets quarterly and advises the BSI Executive Committee on the organization, direction, and accomplishments of the BSI. The BSI Planning Committee will represent their faculty in communicating ideas about the future directions of brain science to the BSI Executive Committee. In particular, the Planning Committee will provide an opportunity and forum for the major brain science departments to advise and inform the BSI of relevant departmental or faculty initiatives that would benefit from BSI-structured collaborative opportunities. Members | The Brain Science Institute University Council consist of the Vice Dean for Research and the Directors of Departments that have significant members of their faculty performing brain science research. Current members of the Council include the Directors or their designees of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine, Applied Physics Laboratory, Biomedical Engineering, Bioethics, Division of Geriatric Medicine and Gerontology, IBBS, KKI, Neurology, Neuroscience, Neurosurgery, Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, Psychology and Brains Sciences, and Radiology. The Council meets bi-yearly and serves as the major route of communication between the participating Departments, Divisions, and Institutes and the BSI. Bi-yearly, the BSI leadership will review ongoing and planned campus wide programs with the University Council. Members
| The Brain Science Institute Departmental Representatives are non-Director representatives of each Department. These representatives will serve as day-to-day liaisons between the BSI and participating Departments. The representatives will attend all relevant BSI meetings if the Director of their Department is unable to attend. The Departmental representative will organize Departmental BSI activities and facilitate communication of BSI programs and initiates to each Department.
