Peter V. Rabins, M.D., M.P.H., is Professor of Psychiatry at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, with a joint appointment in the Department of Medicine and joint appointments in the School of Public Health's Departments of Mental Health and Health Policy & Management. He also serves as Director of the T. Rowe & Eleanor Price Teaching Service. Dr. Rabins received his B.A. in Political Science from the University of Florida, his M.D. from Tulane University School of Medicine, and his M.P.H. from Tulane University. He is currently studying how family members make decisions for persons with end-stage dementia, how consent is determined for research studies that impair cognition and how the concept of self reflects the organization of specific brain structures. He has served on the Johns Hopkins Ethics Committee since its founding. |
