Biographical Sketch | David M. Blass M.D., is Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. He received his B.A. from Johns Hopkins University in 1990, his M.D. from University of Maryland in 1997, and Rabbinic Ordination from Yeshiva University in 1996. Residency training in psychiatry was completed at Johns Hopkins, including a Fellowship in Geriatric Psychiatry. He has authored a number of articles on the interface of psychiatry and religion and has lectured on the topic to a variety of audiences. He has taught a weekly seminar on Jewish Medical Ethics at Congregation Shomrei Emunah in Baltimore for the past seven years. He is also a member of the Johns Hopkins Hospital Ethics Committee. Clinical interests include the care of geriatric patients with dementia and other psychiatric conditions. Dr. Blass has a particular interest in the care of patients with Frontotemporal dementia (Pick’s disease). |
