| The Huntington's Disease Center at Johns Hopkins serves Maryland
and adjacent regions, including portions of Virginia, Pennsylvania,
Delaware, New Jersey and the District of Columbia. The center offers
several kinds of clinical services and opportunities for participation
in clinical research. Two multidisciplinary clinical programs offered
include an Evaluation & Research Program, which provides initial
clinical evaluations and presymptomatic neurological testing, and
a Continuing Care Program, which provides ongoing clinical services.
Social work services provided in both programs include case management,
community resource referrals, housing assistance, and long-term care
placements. Patients with acute medical or behavioral problems can
be hospitalized at Johns Hopkins or other area hospitals. Center staff
members are available for counseling, consultation, and emergency
referral services. We maintain strict confidentiality standards throughout
our practices.
