Education

Overview

One of the key goals of Johns Hopkins University, the HDSA, and the Baltimore Huntington's Disease Center is to promote education. It is our desire to help patients, and families to better understand the disease and its progression in order to plan and prepare for the future. This is completed by a variety of means, through support groups, individual and family counseling, literature and Internet links.

Our goal of educating physicians to HD starts with the residents and fellows at Johns Hopkins University, who as part of their training have the opportunity to become familiar with the disease under the expert guidance of one of our Neurobiology faculty. Through this supervised clinical work, physicians have the opportunity to develop an understanding of the signs, symptoms, and psychological stressors associated with HD.
