Melinda Fitting, Ph.D. Profile

Dr. Melinda Fitting is an adjunct assistant professor at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences.

A member of many professional associations, such as the National Association of Geriatric Care Managers, Psychologists in Long Term Care and the American Association of Geriatric Psychiatry, Dr. Fitting is recognized nationally as a speaker on geriatrics, ethics, rehabilitation and long-term care.

Dr. Fitting earned her doctorate from the University of Denver and completed a postgraduate fellowship in psychogeriatrics at the Johns Hopkins Hospital Department of Psychiatry. She has been a member of the Department of Psychiatry faculty at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine since 1985. She has a master's degree in physical therapy from Stanford University and spent six years as a physical therapist working with the elderly prior to becoming a geriatric psychologist.
