Assistant Professor of Orthopaedics
A sports medicine specialist and an assistant professor in orthopedic surgery and medicine at Johns Hopkins, Dr. Sameer Dixit also serves as a team physician to the Baltimore Orioles.
He is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine, the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, the American College of Physicians and the American Road Race Medical Society.
Board certified in both internal medicine and sports medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Dixit’s clinical interests include: musculoskeletal injuries to all joints, comprehensive medical care of athletes at any level, acute injuries (e.g., muscle strains, ankle sprains, knee and shoulder injuries and fractures), and injuries caused by overuse (e.g. tendonitis, shin splints, stress fractures).
A graduate from University of Maryland School of Medicine, Dr. Dixit completed an internal medicine residency program at the McGraw Medical Center of Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago as well as a two year fellowship in primary care sports medicine from UCLA.
