Enid Neptune, M.D.
Associate Professor of Medicine
Dr. Enid Neptune is associate professor in the division of pulmonary and critical care medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
Certified in internal, critical care and pulmonary medicine, Dr. Neptune is a translational researcher who is involved in both clinical and basic research. She is a principal investigator on several NIH and non NIH grants. Her current research focuses on the mechanisms of airspace formation, maintenance and destruction that is relevant to diseases such as COPD-emphysema. The goal of her research is to further develop therapeutic tools to treat a variety of lung diseases, including COPD.
Dr. Neptune runs a clinic on genetic disorders of the lung. She serves on the Tobacco Action Committee for the American Thoracic Society. Dr. Neptune has chaired symposia on Gender and Lung Disease and has published on this topic. She is also a standing reviewer for several NIH study sections.
Dr. Neptune received her medical degree from Harvard Medical School. She came to Johns Hopkins in 2001 as a post-doctoral fellow in the Institute of Genetic Medicine.
