David Linden, Ph.D.

Professor of NeuroscienceDr. David Linden

Dr.  Linden is the author of two books: His first book, “The Accidental Mind,” explains the evolution of the human brain to intelligent lay readers and recently received a silver medal in the category of Science from the Independent Book Publishers Association. His second book, “The Compass of Pleasure,” in 2011 already has been published in 13 languages.

As a researcher, he and his lab have worked for many years on discovering how memory is stored on the cellular level in the brain.

He has a long-standing interest in scientific communication and serves as the chief editor of the Journal of Neurophysiology.

His seminar entitled Vice, Virtue and the Brain's Pleasure Circuits is scheduled for Seminar IV: (3:15 p.m. - 4:15 p.m.).
