Assistant Professor of Gynecology and Obstetrics
An expert in infertility, Dr. Lisa Kolp specializes in helping women conceive despite such obstacles as endometriosis, uterine anomalies and fibroids, recurrent pregnancy loss or menopause.
Dr. Kolp is particularly interested in preserving fertility for women who must undergo cancer treatment that is potentially sterilizing. Her laboratory is now investigating methods of freezing a woman’s ovarian tissue before she undergoes chemotherapy or radiation therapy so that mature, fertilizable eggs may later be retrieved.
Certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners and the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Kolp earned her medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine and completed her residency and a fellowship at University of Virginia School of Medicine.
She will discuss Perimenopause: What's A Girl To Do? at A Woman's Journey in Session IV, 3:15 p.m. to 4:15 p.m.
