Dr. Saraswati Sukumar is the co-director of the Breast Cancer Program in the Department of Oncology and a professor of oncology and pathology at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.

Widely published in many journals, she holds 10 patents dealing with targeting breast cancer treatment in the glands and ducts of cancer patients.

A member of several professional societies, such as the American Association of Cancer Research and Women in Cancer research, she sits on the editorial board for the Journal of Women’s Cancer.  

Dr. Sukumar received her masters of science and Ph.D. in biochemistry from Nagpur University in Nagpur, India. She joined the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 1994.
