Since 1998 we’ve offered a unique service called Survivors Helping Survivors, which pairs newly diagnosed breast cancer patients with survivor volunteers who have had similar experiences. The volunteers talk with patients about their concerns and apprehensions, answer questions, and accompany them to physician appointments if they wish. Several survivors are on site to support patients having biopsies or surgery. Two of our Breast Center nurses are also breast cancer survivors and work with each newly diagnosed patient.
