Procedure for placing clinical calls

NOTE: There is no charge for clinical calls.

1. Label your cage(s) with an orange clinical call card.  These are available in each procedure room. If you can’t find them, ask the animal care technician in your area.  Mark the card with your name, date, contact information and problem.

2. Record the precise cage location (Facility, room, rack and rack position) and protocol number (from the cage card) and animal # where available. You need this information for placing the clinical call.

3. Call 955-3275 and request a clinical call.
You will need the information in 2).  Briefly describe the problem you have observed. Provide a telephone # and email where you can be contacted by the veterinarian.  Please note: you need to call this number - the orange card merely identifies the cage.

4. You will receive a call from a veterinary technician or veterinarian.  Please be prepared with specific information on the experiment and other information you think may be pertinent to the problem.
