OR Coordinator
Running the board in a busy OR is an essential skill for any anesthesiologist interested in administrative duties after graduation. The OR Coordinator rotation is an opportunity to learn about OR scheduling practices, hospital throughput, and the interpersonal dynamics of a large team working together to achieve a common goal. While on this rotation, the senior resident will work daily with the attending anesthesiologist responsible for coordinating the OR. They will be involved in supervising junior residents and CRNAs, will allocate resources as appropriate, and will assist in making the OR schedule for the following day.
Residents typically take 2 calls during this two-week, CA-3 rotation.
