OB Fellow

OB Fellow is a CA-3 rotation in which senior residents supervise and teach junior residents. Each month, there are 2 CA-1s on the daytime obstetric anesthesia service. CA-3s rotating on OB Fellow are involved in supervising junior residents placing labor epidurals and administering anesthesia for routine cesarean section. Seniors on the OB Fellow rotation also teach the junior residents outside the operating room using didactic lectures that they create based on their own interests. While this represents a chance for the senior resident to gain independence and supervisory skills, an attending anesthesiologist is always immediately available.

Residents typically take 1-2 calls per month while on OB fellow.
