Ambulatory

Ambulatory anesthesia is a growing specialty and comprises the overwhelming majority of anesthesia services provided in the United States. During the ambulatory anesthesia rotation, the resident will learn and hone techniques that enhance efficiency in a high-volume, rapid-turnover setting, and will become experts in the perioperative management of ambulatory surgical patients. Residents on the ambulatory rotation will do cases in the Johns Hopkins Outpatient Center and Wilmer Eye Hospital. While on ambulatory, residents take general OR call.
