The Division of Obstetric Anesthesia provides anesthesia and analgesia for obstetric patients on a 24/7 coverage basis at both the downtown Baltimore and Bayview campuses.  Both campuses are referral centers for high risk obstetric patients across the state of Maryland.  Services typically include epidural analgesia for labor, anesthesia for cesarean section and other operative procedures, and consultations for patients.

The OB Division oversees the Obstetric Anesthesia Training Program, a one-year program based in both our downtown Baltimore and Bayview campuses. This advanced training in Obstetric Anesthesiology is led by Dr. Jamie Murphy and candidates will be fellows for the entire year. Fellows will gain the knowledge and experience in managing the most difficult and complex obstetric patients.
