Robert A. Abraham, M.D. Endowed Lectureship
in the Division of Obstetric Anesthesiology

The Fifth Robert A. Abraham, M.D. Endowed Lectureship in the Division of Obstetric Anesthesiology in the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine will be held Thursday, July 9, 2009 at 7:00 a.m. in Hurd Hall in the Johns Hopkins Hospital.

The Abraham Lecturer will be James C. Eisenach, M.D., the F. M. James, III Professor of Anesthesiology, Physiology and Pharmacology at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine and Editor-In-Chief, Anesthesiology. Dr. Eisenach’s lecture is entitled: "Obstetric Pain: Acute and Chronic”.

Dr. Abraham was the first full time Director of Obstetric Anesthesia, and was chosen as “Teacher of the Year” in 1985. The Abraham Lectureship was established in 2000 by former colleagues and residents to recognize Dr. Abraham’s contributions to obstetric anesthesia education and patient safety.
