Dean Honors Peter Pronovost, Hopkins
Critical Care Physician and Patient Safety Pioneer
On November 18, Dean Edward D. Miller, M.D. hosts a reception in honor of Peter Provonost, M.D., Ph.D., medical director for Johns Hopkins' Center for Innovation in Quality Patient Care.
Nationally and internationally recognized as an expert in the field of patient safety, Peter was recently awarded a coveted MacArthur fellowship and named one of Time magazine's "100 most influential people" in the world. His introduction of a checklist of precautions and tasks to guide health practitioners in intensive care units has significantly reduced medical errors and helped save thousands of lives.
