Dr. Srinivasa Raja Receives
Prestigious Fordyce Award

Srinivasa Raja, MD, has been honored with with the 2008 Wilbert E. Fordyce Clinical Investigator Award from the American Pain Society.Srinivasa Raja, MD, Professor in the Johns Hopkins Department of Anesthesiology & Critical Care Medicine, and Director of Pain Research and the Division of Pain Medicine, has been honored with the 2008 Wilbert E. Fordyce Clinical Investigator Award from the American Pain Society. This award recognizes individual excellence and achievements in clinical pain scholarship and is presented to a professional whose total career achievements have made outstanding contributions to the field of clinical pain research and/or practice.

As an Anesthesiology faculty member, Dr. Srinivasa Raja’s clinical interests have included acute and chronic pain management, sympathetically maintained pain, postherpetic neuralgia and post-amputation pain. Dr. Raja is the author or coauthor of more than 175 publications, and was an associate editor of Pain and editor of the "Anesthesiology" journal for nine years. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiology, and a member of the Board of Directors of the American Pain Society.
