Patients may use the Hotline to:
- Get questions answered regarding services offered
- Speak to a physician or nurse
- Make an appointment
Patients calling to make an appointment will be asked a series of questions that will help us assist you better. Once the information is collected, it will be forwarded to the ATP Center nurse coordinator who will return your call within one business day.
The ATP Center clinical staff will collect the following information during the initial phone
call:
Bold items denote the information is mandatory.
- Patient's name
- Patient's telephone number and address
- Diagnosis
- Patient's insurance information
- Past medical history
- Current medications
- Details of diagnosis: current medical record, which includes physical exam, biopsy results, X-rays, scans, pathology reports and reports regarding any other diagnostic workup that was done
- Specific information about any treatment received
- Names and phone numbers of all physicians who have provided care related to this diagnosis
Patients should forward any supporting documentation (X-rays, scans, medical records, pathology slides/reports, etc.) in advance of the first appointment.
Referring physicians will be contacted with results of any tests and recommendations.
Physicians may use the Hotline to:
- Refer a patient
- Schedule an inpatient consult
- Get questions answered regarding services offered in the center or the hospital
- Speak to a physician experienced in advanced transfusion practices
- Obtain answers to questions regarding the rights of patients who refuse blood products and alternative medical/surgical interventions available
To access the above services, physicians may call the ATP Center Hotline Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. or the Hopkins Access Line (HAL) 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The HAL expeditors will contact the ATP Center coordinator to assist you. The HAL line is for physicians only.
