Dr. Mark Liu is conducting a clinical research study to evaluate an investigational medication as potential new treatment for allergic Asthma.
It is an 18-week study with investigational drug in tablet form for 12 weeks. There is a 4-week stabilization period and a 2-week follow-up period.
You may qualify for this clinical research study if you:
are between 18 and 56 years of age
are having ongoing asthma symptoms
are using inhaled corticosteroid
Participants will be compensated for time.

Have you been treated with penicillin ANTIBIOTICS?
Have you taken penicillin or amoxicillin for at least 7 days within the past 5 years? or
Have you had an allergic reaction to those antibiotics within the past 5 years?
Are you 18 to 70 years of age?
If you said “YES”, you may be able to be in a research study being done to learn why some people are allergic to certain antibiotics
This study involves 2 - 4 visits and 2 - 4 blood draws

Description: If you have a known allergy to Latex, we are conducting a Phase I trial of immunotherapy (injection therapy). Subjects will receive increasing doses of injected latex extract, with repeat skin tests, blood tests, and exposure challenge after each new dose concentration. If this treatment is successful, subjects will be eligible to remain on treatment long-term to see if they can return to latex environments.
Study will last 9 months or longer.
Latex injections weekly 4-6 months or longer, then every 2 weeks.
Diary keeping required.
