
Dear Faculty & Staff:
I am very pleased to announce that as of July 1, 2010, Dr. Tao Zheng has been appointed as the new Clinical Director for the Johns Hopkins Division of Allergy & Clinical Immunology.
Dr. Zheng, who is currently an Associate Professor of Medicine, has joined our division as a clinician-scientist since 2004. She is deeply committed to supporting the faculty and fellows in the pursuit of excellence in education, research, and patient care. She is excited about implementing new and improving existing programs in our clinical practice that will enhance the work environment and increase patient satisfaction.
Tao received her MD degree from Tongji Medical University in China. After her postdoctoral training in the Department of Pharmacology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, she received her internship and residency training in the internal medicine primary care program at Yale University School of Medicine. She then continued her Clinical Fellowship training in Allergy and Immunology at Yale University and was appointed as an Assistant Professor there before joining our division at Hopkins. Tao is board-certified by both the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Allergy and Immunology. Her research interest is in understanding the molecular mechanisms in the pathogenesis of asthma, allergy, and atopic dermatitis. She has expertise in animal models of allergic diseases, including transgenic models of atopic dermatitis and asthma.
