The Johns Hopkins Program, both medicine and pediatric tracks, will join almost all other non-military US A-I ACGME-accredited training programs in using a common application system (ERAS) and a national matching program (NRMP) for fellowship positions starting July 2008. A list of participating A-I programs can be found at the AAAAI website http://www.aaaai.org/professionals/careers/eras_participants.asp
Applications to any or all of these programs can be made through the ERAS system which most applicants will have used to apply for residency positions. Q&A about this application process and how it will apply to A-I can be found at http://www.aaaai.org/professionals/careers/eras_faq.asp
The timeline for the 2010 selection process will be as follows:
| MyERAS Web site opens to applicants to begin working on applications |
ERAS applications for the Johns Hopkins Program must include a "Personal
Statement" of not more than 1000 words that addresses the following
questions: 1) What factors are responsible for your interest in allergy
and clinical immunology as a medical subspecialty?; 2) What career path
do you envision for yourself in A-I?; and c) What features of the Johns
Hopkins A-I program attracted your application, and how do you see the
Program as a good match for your professional goals?
Fellowship Program Application Deadlines
ERAS does not set program application deadlines as the individual programs set the deadlines. you should contact the fellowship programs directly for application process, deadlines and position start dates. ERAS has two application cycles each year: July and December. The ERAS PostOffice closes on May 31st each year to prepare for the following ERAS application season. At that time all of our servers are purged of all applications and supporting documents. ERAS does not maintain records from year to year.
Program descriptions for the Johns Hopkins combined A-I training program can be found in summary format at http://www.aaaai.org/professionals/careers/trainingprograms/md.stm#Johns%20Hopkins
