The People

   Nancy Miller, M.D.

Dr. Nancy Miller is a pediatric orthopaedic surgeon at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD. She has been involved in the research regarding adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) since 1988. Dr. Miller's interest in her research stems from a longtime commitment to research as it relates to her patients and clinical practice. Since starting to practice pediatric orthopaedics, she has become increasingly aware of the significant impact that AIS can make upon an adolescent's life. Characterization of the gene(s) for scoliosis would hopefully lead to more specific treatment regimens, so that the impact of AIS upon the adolescent and their family in the future is minimized.

    Beth Marosy, M.S.

Beth Marosy works in the laboratory with Dr. Miller as her research assistant.  Beth has a Masters' degree in Biotechnology and has been at the Johns Hopkins University since 1992.  After working in HIV research for seven years, Beth began working with Dr. Miller in 1999.
