Mr. Gleichauf directs strategic planning for new business development, marketing, public relations and a number of related support departments for the hospital. He works closely with local physicians and other health and human service care providers, businesses, regulatory agencies and affiliates throughout the Johns Hopkins Health System.

Mr. Gleichauf has extensive involvement with various Howard County communication organizations. He is a member of the board of directors of Humanim Inc., a nonprofit human services organization that provides mental health, vocational, neuro-rehabilitation, developmental disability and deaf services to children, adults and seniors with disabilities; Leadership Howard County, a nonprofit community leadership program for those in business, labor, educational, artistic or religious fields who wish to become engaged in community service; and the United Way of Central Maryland Howard County Partnership. He also volunteers with the Boy Scouts of America.

Before joining Howard County General Hospital in 1995, Mr. Gleichauf worked for a number of hospital and health care organizations in Massachusetts.
