Prohibition on Acceptance of Free Pharmaceutical Samples Takes Effect July 1, 2011; Outpatient Medication Assistance Program Initiated
The Johns Hopkins Medicine Policy on Interaction with Industry calls for a ban on the acceptance of pharmaceutical samples. The ban will take effect July 1, 2011. In an email to the Johns Hopkins Medicine community, Dean/CEO Edward Miller and Johns Hopkins Health System President Ronald Peterson announced the initiation of a program to assist uninsured and needy patients obtain medications for a limited period of time.
