- Make sure that your agreement does not inhibit your ability to perform your faculty duties in any way.
- Be aware that you should provide expert advice only. You may not engage in patient care or research under a private agreement.
- You cannot disclose confidential information that is proprietary to JHU.
- Nothing in your agreement should give the company rights to intellectual property you developed as part of your research and work at JHU.
- Be advised that the company cannot use the JHU names or logos without prior permission from the University*.
- Make sure the company does not quote you except for citation of published scientific material. A disclaimer must be used. For example:
Participationby Dr. [Name] [in the development of this product or as a consultant] does notconstitute an endorsement by the Johns Hopkins University or the Johns HopkinsHospital and Health System.
- You must disclose your relationship with the company in related publications and presentations.
