Human Subjects Research

Please note that conflicts with a significant financial or fiduciary interest will require review by the Committee on Outside Interests.

Your arrangement involves:

  • A minimal financial interest
    • Participation in related human subjects research is generally permitted subject to conflict of interest management
    • Conflict of interest management may include disclosure in relevant publications/presentations and human subject consent forms, a cap on annual income from the entity (at $25,000); a prohibition to consent prospective subjects for the study; data oversight by a non-conflicted individual; limitations on faculty’s role in the research
  • A significant financial interest
    • Participation in related human subjects protocols may be prohibited
    • Review by the Committee on Outside Interests is required
  • A fiduciary interest
    • Participation in related human subjects protocols is prohibited
