What should I do if I am interested in serving on the Committee on Conflict of Interest?
Faculty interested in serving on the Committee should contact Ricardo Azuero at the Office of Policy Coordination. When space becomes available, the names of interested faculty are forwarded to the Vice Dean of Research who annually appoints new Committee members.
Can I attend the meeting and present my case to the Committee?
You can only attend the meeting if you have been invited by the Committee. This usually happens when cases are complex and/or the Committee requests more details or information about the case.
Can I appeal a decision?
Outcomes and decisions that are recommended by the Committee and adopted by the Vice Dean can be appealed by rejecting the electronic management plan sent to faculty via eOPC within 30 days. When rejecting your management plan, you should include a statement as to why you are appealing the decision in the textbox provided on the appeals page. Appeals are usually re-reviewed by the Committee. You may be asked to submit more material and/or present your case in front of the Committee.
