In conjunction with the adoption of the new professional commitment policy in September of 2009, the Dean's office launched the Annual Outside Interests Statement (Annual Statement), an online mechanism for required annual reporting. Annual reporting occurs in the fall of the academic year.

What is the Annual Statement and who needs to complete it?
The purpose of the Annual Statement is to confirm that the Office of Policy Coordination and department directors have a complete, accurate, and up-to-date account of your reportable private activities with, and/or financial or fiduciary interests in, outside entities.
When does the Annual Statement have to be submitted?
The Annual Statement has to be submitted once a year by all Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine full-time and salaried part-time faculty. Annual reporting for the fiscal/academic year 2012 will run from September through November 2011. Faculty members who are required to submit the statement will be notified via personal e-mail when their Annual Statements are ready for submission. They will also receive weekly email reminders during their department's month-long submission window.
Faculty should submit the Annual Statement during their department's group submission window. Following are the group submission windows for academic year 2012:

How can I access my Annual Statement?
The Annual Statement is accessible via eOPC, the online disclosure system. Faculty members will be notified via personal e-mail when their Annual Statements are ready for submission and directions for accessing and completing the Statement will be provided. They will also receive weekly email reminders during their department's month-long submission window. You may contact the Office of Policy Coordination for additional information.
What happens if I do not submit my Annual Statement?
Submitting an Annual Statement is mandatory for all full-time and salaried part time faculty. Failure to submit a completed Annual Statement as required will be reviewed under the Procedures for Dealing with Issues of Professional Misconduct.
