William Stiers, Ph.D., ABPP (Rp) has been appointed to a study committee of the Institute of Medicine (IOM) of the National Academy of Sciences on "Gulf War and Health: Brain Injury in Veterans and Long-term Health Outcomes." This study was requested by the Secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs to better understand the types of care which veterans with brain injury will require over time. The committee is composed of psychologiststs, neurologists, psychiatrists, neuroscientists, epidemiologists/biostatisticians, and brain imaging specialists, and will conduct their work over the next 18 months. Dr. Stiers is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Rehabilitation Psychology and Neuropsychology of the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. |
