Johns Hopkins Physical Therapy contributes to the APTA Combined Sections Meeting

During the American Physical Therapy Associations Combined Section Meeting last month, physical therapists from Johns Hopkins Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation presented three platform presentations. All three were well received and sparked interesting discussion and exchange of ideas. The Johns Hopkins Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation would like to recognize all the therapists who worked on these projects. We would also like to give a special thank you to Dale Needham, MD, without whose support these presentations would not have been possible. The authors and titles of the presentations are listed below:

Scardillo, Janette; Ciesla, Nancy; Rossi, Jess; Zanni, Jennifer:
Intensive Rehabilitation of Patients With Acute Respiratory Failure in the Medical Intensive Care Unit: A Multi-disciplinary Quality Improvement Project

Vatwani, Archana; Dinglas, Victor; Kimberly Benson; Parry, Jennifer; Scardillo, Janette; Boucher, Kim; Sepulveda, Kristin; Mendez-Tellez, Pedro; Dennison, Cheryl; Fan, Eddy; Needham, Dale; Ciesla, Nancy:
Hospital Discharge Placement and 3-Month Follow-up of Muscle Strength and Quality of Life of 100 Survivors of Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome/Acute Lung Injury.

Zanni, Jennifer; Ciesla, Nancy; Rossi, Jess; Scardillo, Janette:
Intensive Physical Therapy of a Mechanically Ventilated Patient in the Medical Intensive Care Unit: A Case Review
