Best Paper Presentation Award

On February 2005, Dr Pablo Celnik received the "Best Paper Presentation Award" by the Association of Academic Physiatrist for his study entitled "Effects of Somatosensory Stimulation on Motor Learning in Stroke Patients".
This study showed that very mild nerve stimulation of the weak hand of stroke patients prior to training of different tasks improves hand function, even when evaluated 24hrs later.
Dr Celnik’s research is focused on understanding the mechanisms underlying recovery of motor function af ter brain lesions. His particular interest involves the development of rational strategies to enhance motor function after stroke.
