Dr. Silver is a graduate of the University of Maryland School of Medicine and completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Maryland. He has authored and co-authored numerous papers and book chapters in the field of Rehabilitation Medicine, and has received grant funding in the areas of dysphagia and stroke rehabilitation. He has conducted clinical trials of the use of medications to treat spasticity in stroke patients. He has given a number of lectures on regional, national and international levels. His clinical and research interests include stroke rehabilitation, injection procedures to manage abnormal muscle tone (spasticity) and electrodiagnostic procedures (EMG).
